Mrs. Salter and Mrs. Moranos
Fifth Grade Class
Last week we wrote a recipie on how to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We were supposed to be detailed but not alot of us weren't. First of all Nate made Mrs. salter get peanut butter in her nails. Of course she freaked out. Then Mr. Spencer had a really messy lunch. But we all had fun. Of course Seth's was super weird and I wasn't detailed at all. But we had a good time.

Today we were architects we created a catapolt and some of us made A SLINGSHOT WHEN THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO! Me and Jennifer made several attempts to make a catapult we were in second to last place. :(. then we made a tower made out of nothing but marshmallows and toothpicks. Cole won.
this blog was made by addy wood thank you
First, we got seven popsicle sticks ,one spoon, and as much rubber bands as you want. We were suppose to make a catapult for a marshmallow. The winner was who's marshmallow went the farthest. At first it looked like me and seth were going to lose because are catapult made the marsh mellow go backwards. But then we had a second round where me and seth turned the catapult a different way and we won. Some people made sling shots not on purpose.
Today in Discovery, we made catapults. Most of us made catapults but, some of us thought about making slingshots not catapults. Catapults only! We did two rounds. We launched marshmallows! I had fun!

In the science lab today we built a catapult. We split up in groups of two and came up with a catapult design. When we all finished, we had a competition. All the groups took turns catapulting a marshmallow with their teams catapult. We also made marshmallow towers. Whoever made the tallest tower that didn't fall was the winner.

Today in gifted classes we made marsh mellow catapult out of marshmallows, rubber bands, spoons, and popcicle sticks. What my group did was we tried to use all seven sticks. So at first we used 3 sticks with 1 rubber band and the spoon. First we set the spoon o top of the 3 sticks. Then, we tied the rubber band and set the marshmallow in the spoon and we pulled back on the spoon. Woosh there it went 2 inches far from where we shot it.

The first thing we did is select our paper. Then we tore it into small pieces and put in a pile. Next, we put it in a blender and made a pulp, but we stopped it about half of the way through and added some more paper. Then, we poured it on a screen and dipped it in water and set it on felt to dry. Last of all, we put in under a stack of books. Charles M. Gibbons
In Mrs. Salter's class we made homemade paper. We were talking about reuse, reduce, and recycle. And then Mrs.Salter said that we were going to make homemade paper. We got some paper that was in the paper pile and we shredded it. After we were done shredding, we waited until it was our turn. When it was our turn we put our pieces of paper into the blender. When Mrs. Salter turned the blender off she poured our now chunky pieces of paper onto a piece of frame that is inside a picture frame. Then she put it on felt. After that she laid it on a chair. She said that by next Tuesday when we come back to her classroom, the paper will be ready to write on.
My name is Jadyn Delph and I loved this project!
First, we picked up a lot of trash from the floor. We put our trash into some bags. Then we weighed it grams. We added all of the totals into just one total. Then we multiplied it by .0022 so that is how we got the total in pounds. We got 7 pounds out of just a single room. Then we sorted all of the trash into three groups. We got some paper then we shredded the paper. Our teacher told us we were going to make paper. We put the paper in a blender with water. In a week we will be able to right on it.So we will make a present for our parents.
Hi I am Diego I think I will make paper at my house a lot.
Before I can tell you about mold I need to tell you about mushrooms. Mushroom roots cover the forest decomposing dead leaves. Mushrooms are things we call decomposers. Decomposers take dead things and turn them into nutrients for themselves. Mold is basically microscopic mushrooms. They are so light they float in the air. When they land on food that is laying out they grow mold on it and decompose it. If it was'int for mushrooms there would be tons of leaves in the forest. The way people stop mold from growing on food is by refrigerators. Before they had refrigerators people used salt to stop fungi growing on food. People put meat in rivers also. That is mold and fungi. Avery
